One of the best things about WebXR games is how instant they are. No app store, no download, no waiting. If you have a Meta Quest, Quest 2, or Quest 3, you are already set up to play — here is exactly how to do it.
On Meta Quest 2 or Quest 3
Put on your headset
Power on your Meta Quest headset and put it on. Make sure you are in a comfortable space with enough room to move your arms.
Open the App Library
Press the Meta button on your right controller to open the universal menu. Navigate to the App Library — it looks like a grid of squares.
Find the Browser
Look for "Meta Browser" (formerly Oculus Browser) in your app library. It comes pre-installed on every Quest headset.
Navigate to VrWebGames
In the browser address bar, type vrwebgames.com and hit enter. You will see the full game library — all free, all WebXR.
Pick a game and tap Play Now
Browse the game library, find something that interests you, and tap Play Now. The game will load in the same browser tab — no download required.
Enter VR mode
Most games will show an "Enter VR" button when loaded. Tap it with your controller, and the game takes over your full view in immersive VR mode.
On PC VR (Valve Index, HTC Vive, etc.)
PC VR users can play WebXR games through Chrome or Edge on their computer. Connect your headset, open Chrome, visit vrwebgames.com, and click Play Now on any game. Chrome will automatically detect your connected headset and enable the Enter VR option.
Make sure your headset runtime (SteamVR, Oculus PC app, etc.) is running before you open the browser.
Tips for the Best Experience
- ▶Clear your play area — most WebXR games use controller movement, not full room-scale walking.
- ▶Use headphones for better audio immersion.
- ▶If a game feels laggy, try closing other browser tabs to free up memory.
- ▶Bookmark vrwebgames.com in your Quest browser for quick access next time.
- ▶Check back regularly — we add new games to the library regularly.
Troubleshooting
The Enter VR button is missing: Make sure you are accessing the page from inside a WebXR-compatible browser on your headset, not from your phone or desktop.
The game is slow or stuttering: WebXR games are GPU-intensive. Close other tabs, make sure your headset is not in power-saving mode, and check that you have a stable Wi-Fi connection.
Controllers are not tracking: Return to your Guardian boundary setup and recalibrate. Controller tracking issues are usually a headset environment issue, not a game issue.
